When Louise Ritchie suggested to husband Bruce McCullough that they sell their five-bedroom house in the coastal town of Kingscliff to travel full-time, he took a little convincing."We're basically on the move all the time," Louise said.

Louise finds house-sitting gigs through Facebook or other websites while Bruce, a seasoned dentist, offers his services to clinics and hospitals in their next destination of choice. "For me professionally, even though I've graduated 43 years ago, I've grown the most in the last six, seven years," Bruce said."In more outback areas, it's very difficult to get any of the health professionals," Bruce said.He said it gave remote dentists a much-needed break, and was the perfect opportunity to spend a few weeks, even months, in a new town.

As the housing market tightens nationwide, house-sitting has become an attractive form of rent-free accommodation. While she convinced her husband to take up the nomadic lifestyle in the first place, it's now Bruce who doesn't want to stop. headtopics.com
